Meet Forty Hall, from the A10, turn into Carterhatch Lane. Bear left into Russell Road, then 1st right into Old Forge Road, cross junction and right into Forty Hill.  Toilets at start. The renovated Forty Hall House and café will be open for you to visit after the walk. Bus 191  to roundabout at Myddleton Avenue. 10 minutes walk  to Forty Hall.

Meet in the car park of The Candlestick Pub in Essendon West End for an attractive walk in Hertfordshire’s peaceful countryside. Park in the Pub car park if you’re staying for lunch or along the road nearby. From the A10 take left B198; at roundabout, go left B156 Goffs Lane; turn right at The War Memorial for Newgatestreet Rd, left at junction for Darnicle Hill and winding right continue ahead to Newgate Street village. Take Tylers Causeway on left, next right Cucumber Lane, then right on to B158 for Essendon.  Turn left foronto West End Lane; The Candlestick is approximately 1 mile

Meet Liverpool Street mainline station opposite Platform 2 to catch the Metropolitan train to Rickmansworth. This is a circular walk along the Grand Union Canal which is home to a variety of wild life and plants.  Toilets at the start of the walk

Meet 10.35 am at Kew Bridge station for a riverside walk to Richmond. Trains to Kew Bridge station from Waterloo 10.07 am and Vauxhall 10.11 am. I will be travelling from Walthamstow Central via Vauxhall,  leaving at 9.30 am sharp, for those wishing to join me. Coffee and toilets

Meet  at Victoria Mainline Station by the large W H Smiths (arrive earlier if you need to buy a train ticket). Train from London Victoria to Purley Station, then bus to Mayfield Lavender Farm (Zone 6). Freedom Pass or Off Peak Travel card accepted. Admission to the farm is £1.Toilets and café available or bring a packed lunch. Return to London Victoria from Carshalton Beeches Station via Oaks Park (1.5 miles).  Back in London around 3pm.
