A very warm welcome to Lea Valley Friends, The Discovery Walkers. We are a Ramblers group specialising in interesting and informative short walks of roughly three miles, almost all accessible by public transport. We walk every weekend either Saturday or Sunday, and our walks are very varied.
Come and join us for a stroll in London: historic walks and sightseeing, visits to museums, heritage and cultural sites, and quirky hidden gems. Walk with us in London’s many and varied parks, along London's extensive river and canal network, and amble around other heaths, commons and woods within the London area. Or enjoy one of our leisurely walks in the Walthamstow Wetlands, Lea Valley Park or Epping Forest, or other slightly more distant places.
Our Walks of Discovery are often packed full of interesting facts and figures, with commentary from our knowledgeable walk leaders.
Walks generally start at 10.30 am and usually finish shortly after 1.00 pm.
New people are welcome to just turn up and join us.
Walking is an enjoyable way to get outside, make new friends and improve your health and happiness, and our Walks of Discovery will keep your minds active too!
